How To Setup Outlook With Hostgator Email

Great Web Hosting, Affordable PriceI get asked this question a lot by clients of mine, so this is just a quick post on how to setup your Outlook to use Hostgator’s email that is included with their hosting packages. (Linux hosting only)

  • Open Outlook
  • Go to Tools on the main menu
  • Then click Account Settings
  • Pick the account you want to change or create a new account.

When this is set up, click the “More Settings” button

Then click the “Outgoing Server” tab.

NOTE: Make sure the “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.” box is checked.

Then click the “Advanced” tab.

Make sure the “Incoming Server (POP3):” is set to 110 and the “Outgoing server (SMTP):” is set to 26.
Click OK, then test account.

You should be good to go!

    THANK YOU!!!!! i have been trying to install an account for hours, wondering what am i doing wrong (it being my 1st time i assumed i did something wrong) but i DIDN’T!!! all the tutorials said SMTP: Port 25. the min i changed it to 26 all my trobels where over… thank you once again.
